McGrady Engineering first opened the doors of its Whitehaven workshop in 1982 and they've been serving businesses large and small across Cumbria ever since. Doubling the size of their workshop has allowed them to increase the size and complexity of the projects they can handle. They now work across a range of sectors including nuclear, civil engineering, defence, emergency services, renewable energy and manufacturing.
Built on standards
The way they work may not have changed a great deal in the past 30+ years, but safety standards, enhanced measurement and testing have. As the business and client base has grown Non Destructive Testing (NDT) and Inspection have become a vital and critical part of their business. Quality Plans and Lifetime Quality Records underpinned by the ISO 9001:2008 certification help ensure the high standard of their work, as demanded by their clients.
McGrady Engineering Limited have gained EN 1090-1 accreditation which enables them to CE mark all fabrications and structural steelwork that require it, up to and including Execution class 4.
Building relationships that last
They are still a family firm. The scale and scope of what they do may have changed, but the values that brought them their first client (Eastman Chemicals) in 1982 are still their values today. That's why Eastman's still a client.
They believe that their success is down to the high levels of engineering knowledge, staff skills and customer service delivered by the business. This combined with a clear passion and forward thinking attitude make a company continually evolves and rises to every new challenge.
